Please read the below information carefully, paying particular attention to the times and drop off locations of each activity. If you are unsure of which activity your child is enrolled in, please check your MCAS account under the 'Trips' section.
Absences during the week
If your child is unable to attend, please report their absence via the usual method of emailing absence@dhsb.org before the start of the day, or calling the school on 01752 208787. Please be aware that CEW is a compulsory school week. If your child is unwell for more than one day, you must report the absence each morning. If you have any concerns or queries regarding this, please contact our Attendance Officer, Hayley Evans, via absence@dhsb.org
Mobile Phone policy
Because students will be off-site for the majority of these activities, we will operate under our "professional use" policy. Students are welcome to bring their phones to take photos, coordinate emergency pick-up changes, make payments etc.
However, phones must not be used for other personal use / social media etc or other activities not linked to the activity in which they are participating. They must be put away entirely whenever staff or activity providers are speaking or instructing.
Behaviour and Attendance for the week
We expect all students to uphold the high standards of conduct and behaviour expected throughout the school year during Enrichment Week. Any incidents of poor behaviour during activities may result in the student being withdrawn from the activity. In such cases, refunds will not be issued, and parents/carers may be asked to collect their child from the activity location.
Curriculum Enrichment Week is a vital part of your child’s education and forms part of the regular school term. Attendance is compulsory, not optional. It is essential that students attend as they would during any other school week. Absences will only be authorised for valid reasons, such as illness or medical appointments. Any unexplained or unsupported absence will be recorded as unauthorised.
Late Arrivals
We ask that all students are at their activity venue 15 minutes before the day is due to start. If your child is running late, please inform the school as a matter of urgency via 01752 208787 so that trip leaders can be updated.
Refuel Opening Times
The main Refuel building will be open, but serving a limited menu.
If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals and on an activity away from the school, the trip leader will have collected their lunch and will take it to the venue. If your child's activity is on the school site, they can order their lunch as usual.

A day in art researching, understanding and then creating propaganda art through hand created posters or possibly digital posters.
What is propaganda?
Propaganda is biased or misleading information used to manipulate public opinion, persuade audiences, and push a specific agenda, often appealing to emotions rather than logic. It uses skewed facts, loaded language, and repetition in media, posters, or speeches to control how people think
Examples of this could be:
Wartime Posters: Posters creating a "them vs. us" mentality to encourage citizens to support a war, often portraying the enemy as monsters.
Political Campaigns: Using false statistics or misleading news stories to make an opponent look bad or incompetent.
Social Media Manipulations: Spreading rumors or selective "facts" to make people distrust a specific group or support a policy.
"Bandwagon" Marketing: Advertising that says "Everyone is switching to this brand," pressuring consumers to buy based on popularity, not quality

TIME: 0845 (for 0900 start) - finish by 1520
